  1. John Bell is my dad and seeing all these photos is super cool .
Thanks very much for making this web page .

  2. Hi:
I played with The Sinners from Welland Ontario in 1965-66. We played at Club 23 in Cornwall in August, 1965. I got out of the band in late summer 1966. Around that time, a John Bell showed up in Welland, wearing a Beatles cap talking with a put-on Brit accent and claimed to have played with a couple of bands “up north”. He ended up buying my gear (Burns Nu-Sonic guitar, Copycat tape echo unit and ’63 Fender piggyback Band Master amp). He gave me $300 down and an IOU for the other $300. Soon after, he disappeared and I feared I’d never see the rest of my money.
Early January, 1967, after I’d written off the loss and chalked the deal up to experience, much to my surprise John showed up at the Astor Cafe in Welland where I and my frat brothers hung out, told me he’d sold the amp but that my Burns and the Copycat were at a friend’s place in Montreal. He paid for 2 bus tickets and I accompanied him to Montreal and got the guitar and the Copycat back. I subsequently resold them.
I never saw John again after that and often wondered what became of him. But he did restore my faith in humanity with his honesty.
If this John Bell is indeed the same guy who is your father, be proud that you are the daughter of such an honest man!
    Cheers.
    André Germain.
